What You’ll Do

  • Supports student success by addressing factors that may interfere with educational performance, including but not limited to:
    • Self-help skills (feeding, dressing, hygiene)
    • Fine, gross, and visual motor development
    • Sensory integration and visual processing
    • Positioning, functional mobility, and transitions
    • Functional communication through alternative methods
    • Use of adaptive equipment and educational tools
  • Delivers OT services as outlined in students’ IEPs
  • Participates in the IEP process, including evaluation, planning, and documentation
  • Assists in early intervention to prevent further impairment or loss of function
  • Supports students in developing or regaining the ability to perform tasks essential for independent functioning when those abilities are impaired or lost
  • Supports students with transitions (e.g., early childhood to school, school to post-secondary)
  • Monitors student progress and maintaining accurate records and data
  • Collaborates with teachers, specialists, and families to ensure integrated support
  • Provides relevant training and resources to Atlas educators and staff
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings and problem-solving efforts
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Compensation & Schedule 

  • Salaried/Exempt
  • Signing Bonus: $1,000
  • Annual Salary Range $58,315 - $68,491 (DOE)
  • Full Time; Monday – Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Annual Calendar and Start Date

  • 198 work days per academic year
    • Includes 3 days of new staff orientation. Following years will include 195 workdays. 
  • Start Date: July 9th, 2025 

 

*Prorated if employment begins after July 1, 2025.

 

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
  • Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Current Colorado Occupational Therapist license (verifiable through DORA)
  • Special Services Provider License through the Colorado Department of Education
  • Knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Exceptional Children’s Education Act (ECEA)
  • Ability to pass required background screening pursuant to CRS § 22-30.5-110.7
  • Ability and willingness to complete CPI course (provided by Atlas) to receive applicable certification
  • Demonstrated holistic approach that considers both school and home environments
  • Self-starter with enthusiasm for student success

Desired Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • 1+ years of experience as a school-based Occupational Therapist
  • Experience working in a Title I setting or with English Language Learners

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Lift up to 25 pounds at times
  • Safely apply CPI techniques when necessary
  • Access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
  • Abide by all policies and procedures of Atlas
